It<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Companies love numbers.<br \/>They love dashboards, forecasts, probabilities, funnels, pipelines, and reports.<br \/>And yet they keep failing at the exact same point:<\/p>\n<p>The numbers look plausible \u2013 but reality does something else.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Reality Review is not another tool, not a new meeting, and not a methodological upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>It is a leadership and steering system that asks an uncomfortable question:<br \/>Is your revenue planning based on real causality \u2013 or on hope, activity, and well-told stories?<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who answers that question honestly realizes very quickly:<br \/>Most forecasts are not steering instruments.<br \/>They are sedatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What this system deliberately is not<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Business Reality Review is not a sales meeting where deals are retold.<br \/>It is not a forecast ritual designed to produce numbers that simulate certainty.<br \/>It is not a coaching format, not a feedback circle, and not a space for opinions.<\/p>\n<p>It is a steering instrument.<br \/>And if nothing is decided, changed, or stopped after the meeting, it was not a Business Reality Review \u2013 it was a waste of time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The real problem nobody wants to name<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In most organizations, there are more numbers than clarity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revenue targets.<\/li>\n<li>Forecasts.<\/li>\n<li>Pipelines.<\/li>\n<li>Probabilities.<\/li>\n<li>CRM reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And yet the same things keep happening:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Forecasts regularly miss the mark.<\/li>\n<li>Meetings revolve around individual cases.<\/li>\n<li>Activity is confused with progress.<\/li>\n<li>Numbers calm people down \u2013 but they do not lead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The core mistake is surprisingly simple and deeply structural:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Numbers are reported, but not interpreted.<\/li>\n<li>And certainly not placed into a causal context.<\/li>\n<li>The Business Reality Review starts exactly here \u2013 and cuts away everything else.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The simple, hard core idea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Revenue only happens when two conditions are fulfilled at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>First:<br \/>There is enough potential volume.<\/p>\n<p>Second:<br \/>The organization is capable of actually closing that volume.<\/p>\n<p>Not by gut feel.<br \/>Not by storytelling.<br \/>Not by explanation.<br \/>But measurably.<\/p>\n<p>These two realities are strictly separated in the Business Reality Review.<br \/>Not blended, not softened, not interpreted as \u201cholistic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are exactly two metrics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #660000;\"><em><strong>Volume Indicator.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #660000;\"><em><strong>Execution Indicator.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Everything else is noise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volume Indicator \u2013 the brutal volume question<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Volume Indicator answers one single question:<br \/>Is there enough pipeline at all to reach the revenue target?<\/p>\n<p>It does not measure how well selling is done.<br \/>It does not measure competence, engagement, or effort.<\/p>\n<p>It measures only one thing:<br \/>Is the sheer amount of opportunity sufficient \u2013 yes or no?<\/p>\n<p>A strong Volume Indicator is not success.<br \/>It is merely the absence of a structural deficiency.<\/p>\n<p>If this number is weak, you do not have a sales problem.<br \/>You have a go-to-market problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Execution Indicator \u2013 the uncomfortable truth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Execution Indicator asks the question most organizations avoid:<br \/>How realistic is it that this pipeline will actually turn into revenue?<\/p>\n<p>It does not measure activity.<br \/>It does not measure conversation quality.<br \/>It does not measure hope.<\/p>\n<p>It measures closing capability.<\/p>\n<p>Every opportunity has a value and a probability.<br \/>The Execution Indicator is based on the weighted forecast \u2013 and therefore on the honesty of those probabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Weak execution does not mean people do not work hard.<\/p>\n<p>It means deals are qualified poorly, decisions come too late, or selling becomes political.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why only both indicators together create reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The real value of the system does not sit in the individual metrics, but in their combination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>High Volume Indicator, low Execution Indicator:<br \/><\/strong>Many opportunities, low closing probability.<br \/>A lot of work, little impact.<br \/>Typical for weak qualification, early-stage deals, and missing decision power on the customer side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Low Volume Indicator, high Execution Indicator:<br \/><\/strong>Good deals, clean closes \u2013 but too little pipeline.<br \/>Not a sales problem, but an acquisition, positioning, or capacity problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Both indicators weak:<br \/><\/strong>Not an operational issue.<br \/>A leadership and go-to-market failure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Both indicators strong:<br \/><\/strong>Sufficient volume.<br \/>Realistic execution.<br \/>That is not luck \u2013 that is steering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What actually happens in the Business Reality Review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The system runs weekly or monthly.<br \/>No drama. No show. No deal theater.<\/p>\n<p>Each accountable owner simply reports:<br \/>On Track or Not On Track \u2013 based on volume and execution.<\/p>\n<p>If something is Not On Track, an issue is named.<br \/>Not discussed. Not explained.
